About TCS National Qualifier Test (TCS NQT)

TCS National Qualifier Test (TCS NQT) is a multi-level assessment to assess the following competencies and skills:

• 1. Competence on the core cognitive processes required for entry-level jobs
• 2. Industry-specific knowledge and insights
• 3. Specialisation on skills required to perform various job roles

About the Test

• NQT (Cognitive Skills) is a prerequisite for all the tests
• Two-year validity of NQT Score
• Conducted online (at home) and physical In-Centre at TCS iON Authorised Exam Centres
• Candidates with NQT Score will be eligible to apply on the TCS iON Job Listing Portal
• Apply for any entry-level role in any corporate with the NQT Score

Who can Apply

• UG, PG and Diploma students in their pre-final and final year
• Students with any degree and specialisation/discipline
• Freshers with less than 2 years of experience

*NQT (Cognitive Skills) Score is a prerequisite for all the tests.

TCS NQT Syllabus for 2021 batch is the following given below -

Mandatory NQT

• Verbal Ability
• Numerical Ability
• Reasoning Ability

Subject NQT

• Coding
• Programming Logic

IMPORTANT NOTE:

1. There will be no negative marking.
2. TCS NQT is adaptive this year
3. You will not get any extra rough paper in the exam as a calculator and Rough Paper will be available on your Desktop Screen. You are not allowed to move your eyes down while giving the examination.

Detailed Syllabus with Topics: -

1. To start with, in Verbal Ability the topics you need to cover are Sentence Completion, Reading Comprehension, Error spotting, Para jumbles, Formal/ Informal language, Sentence building, and Vocabulary
2. Next, in Reasoning Ability, you need to study Data Arrangements, Data Sufficiency, Syllogisms, Blood Relations, Attention to Detail, Data Interpretation, Venn Diagrams, Percentages, Statement and Course of Action, and Statement and Assumptions.
3. In Numerical Ability, you need to study Statistics, Simplification, Mensuration, Profit and Loss, Percentages, Work equivalence, Proportions, and Time Speed and Distance.
4. In Programming Logic, you need to study Operators, Looping statements, Control statements, Arrays, Strings, Functions, Object-Oriented Programming (OOPS), Data Structures: Linked List, Stack, Queue, Trees and Graphs, Pseudocoding, Algorithms, and Basic Software Development Cycle.
5. For Coding, you will have to practice and study Data types, Operators, Arrays, Strings, Decision Making, Looping, Functions, and Scenario-based questions.

TCS would be doing Eligibility Checks at various stages of the selection process. If a student is found to be ineligible at any stage of the process, TCS reserves every right to not proceed with the candidature.

·         Age should be between 18 to 28 years at the time of taking the test.

·         Students from NIOS (Std. X and Std. XII) can take the test, if they have a full-time graduation.

·         Students should not have any extended education in their highest qualification.

TCS Smart Hiring NQT Syllabus:

The test will have 80 questions that have to be answered in 120 minutes.

It comprises the following sections:

·         Verbal Ability (24 questions)-30 Minutes

·         Reasoning Ability (30 Questions)-50 Minutes

·         Numerical Ability (26 Questions)-40 Minutes
